Cowes Week (LD) 27 July-03 August
Dartmouth Regatta 29-31 August last leg of the Services Offshore Regatta
Combat Arms Seaview Regatta 09-11 September
Travel funding for most of these should be available from the Representative Sport Travel Budget to save your own Unit Travel Budgets.
We are also aiming again to conduct some dinghy racing this year. Interested sailors please get in touch with the RC (Dinghies). Key events are the Lagos Trophy (Inter Corps Match Racing in Laser 2000s) in October and the Gold Cup (Inter Services Assymetric Champs) in September. Both are very accessible for those new to racing so please don't be put off by the impressive names - all welcome.
CASR 23 was held at the Seaview Yacht Club 11-13 Sep 23 with 20 crews from across the Royal Armoured Corps and Infantry taking part. Some had left ITC Catterick just three weeks beforehand while for others it was more like three or four decades! Experience clearly counted for a lot as the Cavalry and Guards Club teams came first and second. But it was widely commented that this was the most keenly contested CASR for a while with no team sure of a first place in any race and tight fleets. Plenty of excitement at the starts and at the marks!

The RACYC regularly races competitively in several offshore series, either with the Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC) or the Junior Offshore Group (JOG), as well as competing in Services competitions, such as the Combat Arms Seaview Regatta and the Army Offshore Regatta, and one-off events like the popular Three Peaks Yacht Race. There is a crewing policy to mix experienced and novice crew, so if you would like to get involved in any of the events listed, get in touch with the point of contact via the Yacht Manager.
