A new Admiral for the RACYC

We are delighted to announce that Brig Alex Potts KRH has taken over as Admiral of the Club. A keen sailor, Brig Alex also owns his own yacht Corncockle, which he keeps in Gosport alongside White Knight 7 and the other Corps yachts. We look forward to seeing both of them on the water and enjoying his support and guidance.

We also thank Gen Adrian Bradshaw for his service as the previous Admiral and wish him all the best for his continuing role at the Royal Hospital, Chelsea.

WK7 back in the water for 2022

27 April saw White Knight 7 back in the water as her winter maint was completed and she was re-launched. She has had her anti-foul renewed and some work on the rigging following a rig assessment. The two secondary winches on the coach house have been replaced. Added to a general sprucing up and overhaul and she is in fine shape for the start of the season! Well done to Matt the bosun for his hard work - no volunteers to help this year thanks to COVID.!

RACYC overall winners of the Army Offshore Regatta 2022

The Royal Armoured Corps Yacht Club entry sailing on the club yacht White Knight 7, were the overall winners of the 2022 Army Offshore Regatta. The team narrowly held of the RE YC entry on their J109 Trojan, with close racing which saw finishes seperated by seconds despite the course lengths varying from 20 - 70 nm. Well done to the team and good luck in 2023!

Winter Maintenance 2023

Ready for a busy year White Knight 7 is undergoing some well deserved care and attention to keep her at the high standard enjoyed by club members. Amonst the usual antifouling, polishing and deep clean she is also now sporting brand new cruising and racing mainsails and new cushions for the cabin. Thanks to the bosun and his work party for their efforts.
